A better kind of candy
Walk down the candy aisle today, and you'll find the same brands your parents grew up with.
Over the years, there have been plenty of challengers, all promising less sugar, fewer calories, or something "better-for-you." But there was always a catch. The candy cost more, didn't taste quite right, and somehow felt like you were eating something you were supposed to like.
That wasn't good enough, so Michael Tierney and Peter Rahal teamed up to reimagine what candy could be without losing what people love most about it.
Tierney, founder of Mikey’s and Stuffed Puffs, began in some of the world's best kitchens, including The French Laundry, before turning his focus to creating innovative food products with an uncompromising focus on taste and texture.
Rahal, founder of RXBAR and David Protein, built his career challenging conventional thinking around nutrition and creating products that disrupt established categories.
When Tierney and Rahal looked at candy, they saw another category that had stopped evolving. So, they built HallPass: the candy you already know and love, at a fraction of the calories, for the same price as the classics.
No premium. No compromise.
Because candy is meant to taste good, and you’re meant to have fun.
